Technical Secretaries Queries (March 2009)

Q:         Can a Contractor claim for time spent identifying and locating faults?

A:         The NSR rates include time for competent workman to locate and identify faults.  See page 2/15 para 3, headed Diagnostics.

Q:         Re painting on open railings, fences & gates is it measured both sides or does the rate include for painting on both sides?

A:         Painting to fencing is measure both sides.

Q:         Is the NSR all in labour rate suitable for dayworks?

A:         No.  The build up of the NSR rate  shown on page 2/11 of the Compilers notes does not include costs shown in the list on page 10/68 in part 1 of the Schedule which lists profit as well as a large number of other costs which should be included in the daywork labour.

Q:         Can you copy and send out sections of the Schedules to sub contractors?

A:         No.  This is in breach of copyright without specific permission from NSR Management.

New Office for NSR Management (November 2008)
NSR Management moved to their new office premises on the 10th November 2008. This move enables us to offer extensive on site training, seminars and user group meetings on a variety of subjects. Our new address is 3 Prebendal Court, Oxford Road, Aylesbury, Bucks, HP19 8EY. All other contact details remain the same.

New Appointments of Managing Directors and farewell to current Managing Director (April 2007)
NSR Management Ltd, property management consultants and publishers of the National Scheudle of rates are pleased to announce that Susan Rickard and David Fairbrother have been appointed Joint Managing Directors of the company following the retirement of John Jenkins. Mr Jenkins will remain as Chairman and act as a Consultant to the company.

NSR Complies with European Procurement Regulations (December 2006)
Changes to the European Procurement Regulations were introduced in January 2006. One of the important changes was the encouragement of e-procurement. All National Schedules and our enestimator online package fully comply with the principles set out in the legislation

Access Audit Schedule

A new addition to our family Our new Access Audit Schedule (incorporating special needs adaptations) will be able to assist our customers in meeting tthe moral and legal requirements of the Disability Discrimination Act. The new schedule includes over 800 items (two thirds of them composite) thus making it easier you cost out the implications of meeting your obligations.

Advertise in the National Schedule of Rates

Would you like to advertise in the National Schedule of Rates? From the 1st August 2006 the National Schedules will contain advertisements. The National Schedule is updated annually and has been in production for 22 years and is widely used throughout the United Kingdom by many different clients from local authorities, health authorities, police authorities, banks, insurance companies, housing associations, breweries, shops etc. Customers can buy space in our Schedules for quarter, half and full-page advertisements. The advertisements will be portrait and reproduced in black and white only. This is a unique way of reaching a broad customer base so why not contact Sue Rickard in our Aylesbury office for more details. Although you may have missed the boat for this years schedules we can save you a space for next year.
